Life Skills Development

Our Student Life program uses a strength-based approach to facilitate change. Through the use of positive reinforcement, defining consistent and clear boundaries, and implementing therapeutic interventions for appropriate and inappropriate behavior, your child will learn to identify personal values they want to exemplify and will come to take responsibility for their life’s journey.

Our Student Life curriculum works on supporting your child in:

  • Personal growth development addressing executive functioning deficits
  • Developing healthy coping strategies
  • Addressing non-verbal learning disabilities
  • Long-term and short-term goal setting

Our Student Life program is comprised of phases that your child will work through:

Orientation Phase – Introduction

During this orientation period, students engage in animal care and on-campus community service which are designed to teach the value of a good work ethic, a major contributor to their future academic success. During this orientation period, the students also work on developing personal responsibility and interpersonal communication skills.

During this phase, your child works on self-identity, personal management skills, communication, and understanding of our community responsibilities.

During this phase, your child works on relationships, commitments, accountability and community responsibilities.

During this phase, your child works on leadership, transition, and learns to understand what it means to be a member of the global community in which we all live.
